Monahans Sand Dunes

Saturday April 22nd we arrived at Monahan's Sand Dunes State Park

The sandhills are really a beauty to behold

 

 

 

 

The views change with the wind

Las Cruces, New Mexico

On Tuesday April 21 we crossed into New Mexico

We were scheduled to go to El Paso but the Elks Lodge there no longer has RV parking
so we stopped at the Las Cruces Lodge

Parking was not great but sufficed for the night

Las Cruces is known for their Organ Mountains

And also the Water Tank Murals

 

On Saturday we headed out for Monahans NM

Leaving Home

Well we finally got started on our Summer trip  on Thursday April 20th

Our 1st destination was to the Elks Lodge in Willcox, AZ

We have been to Willcox several times, both on our prior trips and with the GMC Saguaro Jetset Motorhome Club

We had Bacon wrapped shrimp at the La Unica Mexican restaurant where we ate before with the GMC'ers.  Delicious

There are several historical places in town

The Rex Allen Museum

Historic Railroad Park

And finally a wall mural provided by the Union Pacific Railroad

That's all for today folks, we are off to the Las Cruces Elks Lodge

This is my first try at posting on our new blog
We are leaving our home in Mesa Arizona On April 8th, 2017

and heading for a trip to the South East USA and beyond

They include AZ-NM-TX-LA-MS-AL-FL-GA-SC-NC-VA-TN-MO-NE-SD-WY-CO

We will be staying in 56 different locations including 16 Elks Lodges-23 Passport America RV Parks-9 State Parks and 1 Casino

We plan to post details of our Travels and pictures of what we see each day
